Muriel Whitworth, who lives at Wren House Care Home in Warminster recently celebrated her 104th birthday.
Lifelong Manchester City fan Muriel has travelled the world with her husband Eric. She was born in Manchester and moved with Eric to Scotland when he took a job with Scottish Airlines. It was then the travel bug bit and the couple travelled to some amazing places, with the Seychelles being Muriel’s favourite.
The birthday celebrations included presents, decorations, lots of fun and laughter, and of course cake.
Muriel reminisced about her honeymoon when the legendary actor Clark Gable sat next to her, wishing her a long and happy marriage. He remembers him being very kind – and handsome.
Muriel said: “It was lovely to celebrate my 104th birthday with my friends at Wren House. I am already looking forward to my 105th!”
Wren House manager Tracey Atkins said: “We’re one big family here at Wren House and Muriel is a big part of it.
“She’s a great character and we were all delighted to mark this very special day with her.”
