Two new bunnies at Featherton House

Bunny Bonanza at Featherton House Care Home!

Guess what’s hopping over at Featherton House Care Home in Deddington? There are two furry little additions to the family, and they are causing quite a delightful stir! Say hello to our newest members, the adorable bunnies, Thumper and Bumper.

Deciding on names for the furry duo was a group effort. Residents and staff brainstormed a plethora of cute and quirky names. Finally, to make it a fun event, these names were tossed into a hat, and voila! The names Thumper and Bumper were picked.

Foster a deeper sense of wellbeing amongst the residents

Our Featherton family, both residents and staff, have wholeheartedly embraced these fluffy creatures. The introduction of Thumper and Bumper is part of a heartwarming initiative to spread joy, lower stress levels, and foster a deeper sense of wellbeing amongst the residents.

Hilda Sanyika, the home manager, remarked: โ€œThe therapeutic effect that animals can have on people is truly amazing. They have the ability to reduce stress, improve morale and have become a wonderful distraction for us all. Itโ€™s great to see the residents interact with Thumper and Bumper and hear stories as they reminisce about pets they used to have.โ€

While we’ve always had special sessions with pet therapy providers having Thumper and Bumper means that the residents now have round-the-clock access to these therapeutic benefits.

Featherton House is rated as โ€˜Goodโ€™ overall and โ€˜Outstandingโ€™ in care by the Care Quality Commission.
